#26: Romain Ballet & The Beyond Type Run NYC Marathon Team

Romain Ballet is a hero among us T1s. If it's not his unwavering advocacy, then it's his incredible endurance or perhaps even his work in immunology. Romain and I discuss his recent Ironman finish and cover his training for the upcoming NYC marathon. As a member of The Beyond Type Run Team, Romain enters the weekend at the height of T1 diabetes sport. Donate to his fundraiser if you can.

#25: Pat Votruba & Beyond Type Run NYC Marathon Team

Honored to share the story of Pat Votruba on this week's podcast. Pat is a late on set T1 and has been continuing to crush his running goals since his diagnosis. Pat and I talk about his prep for the upcoming NYC Marathon as part of Beyond Type One's "Beyond Type Run Team". I also catch up with him a couple months later in order to get his final thoughts leading into the big day.

#24: Casey Schwenk

Proud to bring you all the story of Casey Schwenk. From running to cycling, Casey leads by example by running and paving the way for T1s all of the world. Casey doesn't let T1 limit him in any way. Living out of an RV and travel/working around the west coast, he runs fearless and taught me a thing a two about the courage it takes to do what we all do...run and act like T1 ain't no thang. Cheer him on for the San Fran Marathon July 29th.

#23: Mary Lucas

This week I speak to ultra inspirational and influential Mary Lucas.  As a key member of Beyond Type 1, Mary works tirelessly everyday to spread awareness of T1 and its effects on us all.  She is also part of the Beyond Type Run team, which last, and this year, will be running the New York City Marathon. This year's team was just announced and I'm super excited to share Mary's experience with this race and this incredible team.
